Fly Fishermen Magazine Destinations Issue!

Tarpon Town & The Annual Fly Fishermen magazine “Destinations” Issue!

I pleased to share that the annual “Destinations” issue of Fly Fishermen magazine is out and that my article on Tarpon Town Anglers Raul Castañeda as a wonderful destination for juvenile tarpon fishing, great food and drink, wonderful accommodations, and so many things to see and do besides fishing.

I can honestly say that Tarpon Town and Campeche are one of my favorite destinations… and I’ve been a lot of places.

This story was a team endeavor that would have been impossible without the beautiful photography of my buddy David Blinken and the artistic and editoral guidance of my friends Ross Purnell and Dennis Pastucha (publisher/editor & art director respectively.)

I’m also deeply grateful for the kindness of my amigo Raul Castaneda of Tarpon Town.

As always, I want to share my sincere gratitude for being a small part of the Fly Fishermen magazine family.

I am honored to be following in the footsteps of Nick Lyons as the author of the “Seasonable Angler” column. I take that honor seriously… even if I never take myself seriously.

With this in mind I’ll share that I actually have two pieces in this Destinations issue … besides the Tarpon Town destination article there is my Sustainable Angler story titled: Good Hombres which takes place in The Sea of Cortz when I was fishing with my buddy Gary Bulla.

If you’re dreaming of roosterfish, tuna, jacks, dorado, and even marlin on the fly and you’re wondering about trying out the Baja… Gary is my go-to choice … but I’m biased.

There’s good reason why I’m biased… these are both wonderful family run operations.

Keep Casting Forward Y’all!
