Human Accelerated Climate Change is Real and a Real Threat to Our Children's Future

Today, January 2nd, 2026… it is 80 degrees Fahrenheit outside and my air conditioning in on “in the DEAD of winter”

My asthma gets unbearable in the heat… it plus the ozone particulate pollution in the air might eventually be the death of me.

I wore shorts on Christmas Day and today and the only reason I wore a thin but long-sleeved casting shirt was to protect my arms from sunburn and save on sunscreen.

Once again we are not experiencing what used to be a normal winter in the Texas Hill Country.

Bluebonnets are growing in my gardens two months too early.

The winter birds that used to arrive every year, no longer arrive on my property, nor do I see them on my many miles of walking in nature all around my homeland.

Our rivers now dry to the stone in many places and along those stretches no aquatic life survives, riparian habitat vanishes along with the many species that rely upon it .

The desertification line is moving eastward, and unique ecosystems are vanishing forever .

I have traveled much of the world including four continents and I’ve witnessed the frightening truth and consequences of our collective human actions and inactions.

Already much of the natural world I knew as a child is gone forever .

Mother Nature Gave Me Life

and then She Saved my Life.

I am Determined to do whatever I can to Return the Favor.

I Shall Not Surrender the Fight to Restore and Protect our Global Environment…even while I know for much of this planet’s living beings… it’s already too late.

I am neither political nor religious.

But the choices this country’s people have recently made, and which are playing out on a global scale are nothing less than potentially apocalyptic.
